The first time I stayed at a bed & breakfast was when my wife and I went on our first anniversary vacation weekend. We knew we wanted to away, we just weren’t sure where or the things we wanted to do.
A colleague of hers showed her a book of bed & breakfasts’ around the United Counties. The more I hear about the bed & breakfast lifestyle, the more I came to be intrigued, until finally my girlfriend got hooked and we booked a bed & breakfast in upstate Vermont. I can honestly say it was a great time. The bed & breakfast owners treated us like royalty, waited on us like we were a king and queen, and the actual meals (that was included within purchase price) was simply unbelievable.
Since then my niece and I tend to be to two other bed & breakfasts, one in Williamsburg, VA and another in upstate Nyc near Seneca Body of water. Although the concept of each bed & breakfast were similar, they were different in a variety of ways. For instance in Vermont at breakfast and dinner (both that were included) we sat at all of our table in the adjoining restaurant. In NY and VA we ate a big table with every one of the other guests. In VA the owners took care of everything, well them and their boys and girls. In NY and VT the owners ran the place but also had help to get rooms ready and continue the place pure. In VT we had our own outside entrance to your room as should the room was all of our house. In NY and VA you’d your own bedroom in the same house with the opposite guests.
Regardless of whichever style you choose, if you never ever stayed at a bed & breakfast you should. 1 was wonderful a person really felt as you were part on the owner’s family when you stayed there.
I would recommend first pick a locale where you know you would cherish to stay. Anyone like the hills? How about the sun or a tropical island? Once have an understanding of what you want to do, then look up the bed & breakfasts their areas that you have targeted and start reading up for them. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book stores have a variety of books you can try without purchasing purchase this information. You can even go to try your local library or look to your bed & breakfast directory online.
Once you have location and contain it narrowed down to one or two possible bed & breakfast choices, start pricing them out uncover if they are available in your budget. I will tell you that effectively a bit pricier then a normal hotel room (some of them anyway). However verify which kind of amenities you get for your reasonable price. Most come with breakfast, otherwise it just be called Bed & make of my house in the dawn. You get the point. Some also serve dinner and offer afternoon tea & snack foods.
